Telltale’s authors manage to humanize its characters in a manner that very few other video games are able to, whether it’s through a debate on the relative advantages of lobster claw hands or a round of rock-paper-scissors. Shel and Becca are two new characters who have been added to The Walking Dead: 400 Days downloadable content.

What was the point of 400 Days?

Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: Season One includes a downloadable content (DLC) and special episode titled “400 Days.” This particular episode is the sixth one in the series as a whole. Sean Ainsworth, Nick Breckon, Mark Darin, Sean Vanaman, and Gary Whitta all contributed to the script, and Ainsworth was the one who ultimately decided to direct it.

  • It focuses on five separate protagonists: Vince, Wyatt, Russell, Bonnie, and Shel, each in their own brief personal story inside a constrained geographic region.
  • Each of their tales is told in first-person perspective.
  • There is a conclusion that binds all five tales together into one cohesive whole.
  • The events of Season 2 are set before the events of “400 Days,” which bridges the gap between the decisions made by the players with Lee Everett in Season 1 and the events of Season 2.

This downloadable content (DLC) is not included in the Season Pass for Season 1, however in order for it to be played on a user’s game system, at least the pilot episode of the season must have been loaded.

Do you need to play 400 Days before Season 2?

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is the last, self-contained episode of The Walking Dead: Season 1, serving as a stand-alone story in its own right. It does not center on Clem or Lee, but rather chronicles the experiences of five other persons who live in the Georgia countryside at the same time period.

It is not required for players to have played The Walking Dead: Season 1, but it does read the save file of your game, and hence, decisions made in Season 1 will resonate in 400 Days; similarly, actions committed in 400 Days will effect events in The Walking Dead: Season 2. advertisement Players will navigate the events of 400 Days via the eyes of the following characters: Vince, Shel, Bonnie, Russell, and Wyatt.

You can actually feel the zombie’s head shatter as you plunge your blade into it, and thereafter, the zombie’s skull will grip onto the knife blade, requiring you to pull it off with all of your might. You can definitely feel the crack as you plunge your blade into the zombie’s head. The result is a feeling of immersion that I have not experienced in any of the other virtual reality games that I have played.

This is just one of the many reasons why I proclaimed The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners to be the best PSVR game released in 2020, but with the release of the free Aftershocks expansion just a week ago, there’s never been a better time to give it a try.

The expansion adds a new chapter to the game’s story that takes place after the events of the main game. Or in my case, getting back into the game after being absent for a good number of months. In this episode, I inadvertently resuscitate my fake Walking Dead offshoot called The Walk-Ian Dead. Since Aftershocks contains only endgame material, you will not be able to access it until you have finished the main Saints & Sinners plot, despite the fact that it is available for free on all platforms and may be played by everyone.

Aftershocks is quite similar to the first game in that its primary focus is on exploring tiny sandbox environments that are filled with zombies and other hostile creatures, including humans. However, this time around the difficulty level has been cranked up, the pathways across the maps have been altered, and traps have been set up in order to keep you on your toes.

The open-world aspect of these sandboxes provides a delightful sense of freedom that is absent in other major VR games, and the fact that you may take your own approach to different scenarios only serves to heighten your level of immersion in the game.

It is up to you to make up your own story, and the unpredictability of the environments, combined with the multiple decisions you need to make in order to accomplish your objectives, frequently results in moments that are both exciting and terrifying. There is no one here to hold your hand through this process.

There has never been a better moment than now for you to give The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners a go for yourself if you haven’t already done so. You can be assured that you will receive your money’s worth because the Aftershocks downloadable content adds a decent several hours to an already considerable campaign duration.
